Going stir-crazy this winter? Here are some great DIY projects!
Winter is always an interesting time of year. For some of us it is a wonderful time filled with great, seasonal outdoor activities like skiing, snowboarding, ice skating, and snowshoeing. For others who are less fond of the winter recreational hobbies, it can be a time when we can get a little stir-crazy! With that in mind, it is a great time to take advantage of being cooped up to tackle some DIY projects around the house. Not only will you get the creative juices flowing, you will create things that you will be proud of and can add a great benefit to you home! In this blog post, we will share some great ideas/projects to get you started.
1. Paint your front door
Definitely tackle this project on a more mild winter day, but we have said it before and we will say it again- painting your front door is an easy and quick way to transform the outside appearance of your house. It will look like you did so much more and looks awesome in before and after pics! Not sure what color to paint your door? Take this handy quiz for some inspiration.
2. Try peel-and-stick wallpaper
Wallpaper is back in style! Whether you might want to go bold and tackle an entire room or jazz up a space with an accent wall, peel-and-stick wallpaper is a great option that won't tear up your walls. Plus, if you decide you don't like it, you can easily remove it. No big deal!
3. Update your kitchen hardware
Talk about an easy project that will look like you did so much more! Switch out your outdated or tired kitchen hardware for something new and fresh. There are so many options and at their low cost you could even try a couple styles out on a few cabinets before deciding what look you want to go with for the entire kitchen.
4. Frame your bathroom mirror
Framing a bathroom mirror is another easy project that will make a big impact. This would be a good project especially if you have a smaller bathroom space that doesn't lend itself to a lot of other redesign projects. You can paint the frame a nice accent color for the space to make it pop!
5. Add under-cabinet lighting in your kitchen
Increase the light in your kitchen space in an attractive easy way with touch lights. These are so quick to put in place and are incredibly handy. A three-pack of LED puck lights costs only around $30!
